About the Role
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting functions for a wide client base. This position is full-time, exempt, and remote. The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager but will work with several members of the team to ensure accurate accounting and timely client service.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Manage accounting for multiple clients across various industries
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing processes
• Onboard new clients and establish appropriate procedures and tasks
• Guide other staff by answering questions and reviewing client transactions
• Reconcile, research and analyze balance sheet accounts
• Maintain and clean up general ledgers, including miscoded transactions
• Ensure financials are accurate, complete and delivered in a timely manner
• Process sales tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Review, process and submit payroll through third party vendors
• Prepare annual 1099s
• Assist clients with appropriate accounting policies and procedures
• Utilize systems to create efficient and accurate processes for reporting
• Communicate clearly and professionally regarding requests, questions and deliverables
• Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• This position requires long periods of time at a computer
• Reliable access to electricity and the internet is essential
• This position is primarily remote and enables you to choose a work environment suitable to you as long as you can focus and communicate with clients or teammates via phone, chat or video.

• Salary Range: $70K - $80K per year DOE

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related field
• 5-7 years’ accounting experience
• Knowledge of general accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures
• Competency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and payroll or HRIS software
• Established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment
• Experience working with multiple clients or entities preferred
• Strong analytical skills and ability to deal effectively with ambiguity
• Effective communication skills and ability to make decisions
• Human Resources experience a plus
• Proven ability to work independently and coordinate with team members as necessary
• Ability to apply discretion with confidential information
